Hailsham FM is holding a Shopping Evening on March 3 from 7pm until 9pm at Grovelands School, to help it raise funds for its annual broadcast at the town’s art festival.

The event at the school in Dunbar Drive, Hailsham, will see more than 30 stalls selling a wide selection of tempting goodies ranging from jewellery, homemade crafts, baby and children’s clothing, cards, homeware, flower crafts, and pet products.

Organisers said shoppers will be supporting local businesses, most of which are not on the High Street or in the local markets.

Entry to Grovelands School is free.

A spokesman for the event said: “Hailsham FM will be holding a tombola and serving refreshments in addition to the shopping fun which is, among other things, perfect timing to purchase a gift for Mother’s Day.

“In order to continue broadcasting this year Hailsham FM needs to raise funds to cover the running costs of their two week transmission during the town’s Arts and Culture Festival in September.

“The eventual aim is to operate a full time radio station to benefit the whole community and beyond.”
