SHORT TERM jobs are available for residents wanting to pay off debts from the Christmas period by helping out with the national Census 2011.
Some 76 jobs are available in Wealden and 45 vacancies for employment in Lewes on a flexible basis with rates from £7.41 per hour.
The census will take place on March 27 2011 and The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is recruiting some 35,000 people to help carry it out. People can apply for a range of full and part time roles with flexible hours ranging from 15 to 37 hours a week.
Karen Heard, area manager for Wealden, said: “Working for census is a great way to earn some extra money, gain valuable work experience and help your local community. The flexible hours also means that you’re able to fit it around other commitments, like childcare or another job.”
ONS carries the census out every 10 years to create a snapshot of the nation.
