The shutters are finally up at Bexhill station’s new café after being closed for over a year.
H & M Coffee, which has been trading at Chichester station for the past three years, will now run Bexhill station café.
Selling hot and cold drinks, a variety of hot food, cakes, sandwiches and newspapers, rail passengers can once again enjoy a pit-stop.
Café owner, Huseyin Ay said he’s delighted to have expanded to Bexhill. “Our customers at Chichester praise the high quality service and friendly attitudes of our staff and I know this will be replicated at Bexhill.”
Yolanda Laybourne of Bexhill Rail Action Group (BRAG), which campaigned hard for Southern Rail to re-open the facility, said: “We are delighted that the station café has re-opened. This important facility has been sorely missed, both by rail passengers and local residents.”
Southern’s Area Manager, Paul Wyborn, said: “A year is a long time to wait, but because Huseyin and his team has a great track record, I know it’ll be well worth the wait. Feedback from passengers has been very positive.”
