EARLY YEARS provision at Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School, Mayfield has been rated ‘outstanding’ after a November inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The report said the school provides ‘a welcoming, interesting and stimulating environment for children to enjoy’ and also highlighted how ‘children in Early Years make excellent progress in relation to their starting points and outcomes are outstanding.’

The school, which currently has 137 pupils, has undergone a major building development programme, including the new Early Years department which will house a new kindergarten class from next April.

Head teacher, Tim Lewis, paid tribute to staff and pupils. He said: “This was a rigorous inspection of every facet of the school and revealed Skippers in its true and vibrant colours. It has also happened at a very exciting time as we look to extend our school provision to cater for 3-4 year olds.”
