Fine weather blessed the Laughton and District Agricultural Society’s 83rd Ploughing Match on Wednesday September 19.
It meant the downland setting at Berwick Court Farm, Berwick, by kind permission of the Lewis Family, looked particularly stunning.
The event attracted entries from vintage tractors and ploughs as well as the most modern machinery.
Those giant giants, the Shire horses with their single furrow ploughs, were as popular as ever.
Trade stands allowed the dealers who supply the agricultural industry to meet their customers and exhibit goods and services.
The Society’s Committee is keen to educate young people about the countryside, and children were able to learn the story of wheat from seed to the table. They could also try their hand at making corn dollies.
The Family Section covered crafts from cooking and painting to flower arranging and fruit displays.
