Around 150 East Sussex small business owners attended the event, held at the Amex Stadium, in Falmer.
The East Sussex Federation of Small Businesses (ES FSB) celebrated 40 years of business support, business networking and policy, and chose Young Enterprise as its charity partner.
The event was hosted by SKY Television presenter and Radio DJ Johny Pach. Guests included FSB national vice-chairman Sandra Dexter.
ESFSB chairman Brett McLean, who is based in Hastings, said the ruby celebration was well-attended. He said: “It was a wonderful, fun-filled evening which was enjoyed by myself and others. It was a great atmosphere.”
The FSB is a business support group for small enterprise with around 200,000 members nationwide.
Brett said the FSB chose Young Enterprise as its charity partner as it provides a positive step towards helping young people focus on employability skills, providing advice, guidance and practical experience in setting up in business. “Young Enterprise helps youngsters aged 14-16 set a business in motion from the ground up. They have to make, and promote the business, register it at Companies House, maintain it for a year and then close it down a year later.” The celebratory dinner, included a dance, charity auction and balloon raffle raising £2,055 for the Young Enterprise charity.
