LEWES author and former BBC producer/presenter David Arscott has produced two CDs for the Christmas market.
Both are exclusively on sale at Skylark in The Needlemakers, Lewes.
David’s Lewes Audio Archive is a double-bill featuring two of his radio broadcasts from yeteryear.
‘Death or Glory’ captures the sounds and sensations of November the Fifth in 1990, and includes interviews with Bonfire characters many locals will know or remember.
‘Ale Thou Art my Darling’, complete with music from the Copper family, is a tour of Harveys Brewery, courtesy of Miles Jenner, back in 1994.
The second CD is ‘Wunt be Drub’ - a celebration of the Sussex dialect. David toured the county researching his dialect book of the same name, and of course he took his tape recorder with him.
Here’s your chance to hear the last remnants of the Sussex tongue before it disappears for ever.
Each CD runs for about an hour and costs £7.50.
