Police are appealing for witnesses following a spate of damage and anti-social behaviour in Hailsham town centre on Saturday (October 10).
Between 4pm and 10pm windows were smashed at two shops in Vicarage Field, and in the High Street signage was damaged outside one shop and a window was smashed at another.
Sergeant Angie Parfitt said, “Officers immediately made an extensive search of the area and investigations led to an arrest being made the same night.
“However, reports suggest several young people were involved. I would ask anyone who was in Hailsham town centre on Saturday evening to contact us if they saw any suspicious behaviour or witnessed any of the damage being caused.”
Anyone with information is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101, quoting serial 1217 of 10/10.
Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
A 15 year-old boy from the Hailsham area has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He has been bailed until October 25 while enquiries continue.
