A RECENTLY opened village pre-school has been awarded an ‘Outstanding in all areas’ Ofsted report.
Stepping Stones Pre School, which opened in March in a new building at Bonners CE Primary Schoolin Maresfield, was awarded ‘Outstanding’ status at the end of September after an Ofsted inspection.
The report states: “All children, regardless of their background or level of ability, are making excellent progress in the Early Years Foundation.
“This is because all staff are highly skilled, qualified, experienced and have an excellent understanding of the children’s individual needs.
“Systems and resources to support inclusion for all children are fully developed and the outstanding partnerships with other professionals ensures children and their families receive a highly professional service.
“Robust monitoring and very good quality procedures ensure children are fully protected and safeguarded. Leadership is strong, all staff are very clear about their aims, self evaluation is used by the team to identify the strengths of the provision and this ensures excellent outcomes for children”.
While many pre-schools are run in village halls Stepping Stones obtained council funding for the new building. Supervisor Lucy Newman said: “We are delighted with our building. Children have settled in so well.
“The school have been very welcoming and the facilities are perfect. All staff have worked hard to make Stepping Stones what it is today.
“It’s great our efforts are recognised through this ‘judgment.”
