Students from Sussex Downs College in Lewes take home medals from regional finals

Students from Sussex Downs College scooped a string of awards at a regional competition.

The talented team travelled to Highbury College in Portsmouth to compete in the two-day Beauty and Complementary Therapy WorldSkills Regional Finals against other colleges.

They came away with two silver medals and a bronze in the Aromatherapy and Reflexology categories, as well as being successful in the first stage of the Advanced Hairdressing heat.

Complementary Therapy students Sadie Ryan, 18, from Crowborough; Sophie Webb, 18, from Bexhill; and Chelsea Cousins, 18, from Seaford, returned triumphant with two silver medals in the Aromatherapy competition and a bronze medal in the Reflexology competition.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Hairdressing apprentice Isaac Bussell, employed by Aloha Hair Studio in Eastbourne, was successful in the first stage of the Advanced Hairdressing Competition and has been selected to compete in the next heat, to be held at the L’Oreal Academy in London on June 18.
