SEAFORD Beach was teeming with people as East Sussex basked in Mediterranean temperatures this week.
Thousands of sun worshippers descended on the beach to enjoy the welcome spell of warm weather where temperatures reached 27C on Thursday July 26, making this the warmest week of the year so far in East Sussex.
It was as warm as Dubrovnik, Croatia, on the Adratic Coast and Nice in the South of France, where the mercury also hit 27C.
Sadly as the Sussex Express was going to press the forecasters were predicting a return to unsettled weather at the weekend.
It was the wettest June since records began in 1910 in the UK, with the county seeing flooding, torrential rain and gale force winds. And a lot of July wasn’t much better either.
Outdoor summer events had reduced visitors numbers or were moved indoors.
