Sussex Horse Rescue Trust Open Day was held on cold Easter Sunday, March 31, from 11am to 4pm.

This was the traditional first open day of the year. Raffle tickets were on sale to support the trust.

For the people who braved the cold on Easter Day there were pony rides, stalls, barn shop bargains, a tea shop and snacks and during the afternoon a helpers parade of sponsored horses, ponies and donkeys.

Bobby Craig the farrier demonstrated his skills with his very popular farrier demonstration, trimming the hooves of a donkey and a pony. He also put a set of shoes on a horse. Bobby really drew the crowd to his demo with his Scots showmanship and banter.

The Sanctuary will be open every Sunday from now on until the second Saturday in September.

There are over one hundred horses, ponies and donkeys to see as well as Brolly the Mascot Cockatoo, who will be calling out Hello and Goodbye and not to be missed is Ralph the giant rabbit.
