I Like A Sweetie has launched a new scheme to reimburse customers for up to two hours of parking in Newhaven Town Centre.

Lewes District Council voted against free parking in February this year, instead choosing to reduce the times during which visitors must pay to park.

As a result, the local sweet shop, on High Street, has decided to help its customers by paying for up to two hours parking for them.

I Like A Sweetie owner Laurence Pulling said: “I hope the public embraces this scheme to show Lewes District Council that free parking works.

“With parking paid, I hope customers will spend a little longer shopping in the High Street with other traders.”
