Job shadowing and work experience at East Sussex County Council, at the Linklater Pavilion and at Lewes Leisure Centre were amongst the activities for students from Priory School in Lewes during Takeover Day on Friday November 21.

They were offered opportunities to shadow Becky Shaw, chief executive of East Sussex County Council, Dr John Parry of the Linklater Pavilion, work alongside teaching staff at East Hoathly CofE School and Lewes Leisure Centre and take on reception duties at Lewes District Council.

They also hosted visitors to the school: Norman Baker MP, Lynda McManus from Lewes District Council and Chief Inspector Rob Leet from Sussex Police.

Takeover Day is a national event offering children and young people the chance to work alongside adults and get involved in decision-making.
