Talented kids’ art work to honour Queen

A WONDERFUL exhibition of art work by children at Grovelands Community Primary School in Hailsham hailed a week of celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Visitors came along to see the colourful sights and styles of the youngsters’ work in the school hall.

Grovelands has just been awarded a ‘Gold Arts Mark’ proving the school’s edge in encouraging creativity among the pupils.

Artsmark is the national programme which allows schools such as Grovelands and further education colleges and youth justice settings to ‘evaluate, celebrate and strengthen a quality arts offer’, according to Arts Council England.

A new focus of Artsmark is to support Arts Council England achieve its goal of making sure young people have the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts by promoting formal education institutions to deliver rich and high quality provision.
