Six members of staff from a Heathfield care home are set to climb Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, to support a colleague.

Heffle Court manager Debby Potter, deputy manager Steve Orwell, head chef Sam Armstrong, administrator Julie Wishman and assistant chef Stuart Potter will take on the challenge on Saturday (April 1).

They hope to reach the summit in about five hours and are aiming to raise £1,000 to support a colleague’s daughter who has been diagnosed with cancer following the birth to her first baby.

Ms Potter said: “This originally came about because it was on Julie’s bucket list and it grew from there.

“We decided to support her with the challenge and hopefully make money for a good cause in the process.”
