Teenage boy charged with manslaughter in connection with death of Peacehaven footballer Connor Saunders

SUSSEX Police said a 14-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Peacehaven footballer Connor Saunders in Rottingdean.

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Sussex Police to charge the 14-year-old boy from Brighton, who cannot be named due to his age.

He remains in custody and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday).

A 14-year-old boy, also arrested, has been bailed until May 8 on suspicion of murder.

A 13-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed on April 16 until May 8.

Connor Saunders died on Sunday (April 15) following an assault on Saturday night in West Street, Rottingdean.
