Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was grabbed by a stranger while walking in Seaford on Tuesday (October 20).

The 17-year-old girl was walking along Sutton Drove, Seaford when she was grabbed from behind by a man.

She was able to run off and though shaken, was unharmed.

PC Anna Batchelor, of Seaford Police, said, “This would appear to be an isolated incident but is clearly not to be tolerated. A thorough investigation is being made.

“I’d ask anyone who saw what happened or who noticed anything suspicious to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

The man was white, 5 ft 7in, in his 40s and stocky. He was wearing a black puffa-style jacket bearing a red logo on the left breast.

Police ask any witnesses or anyone able to identify the offender to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 883 of 20/10.

Alternatively they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
