Telscombe Cliffs Primary School is out of special measures after it was inspected by Ofsted.
In Autumn 2012 Ofsted said the school was inadequate but after a visit in June it was graded overall as requires improvement with areas such as behaviour and safety and leadership and management judged as good.
The watchdog’s report praised the school’s strong leadership, curriculum, behaviour of pupils, links with parents and provision for pupils with special educational needs, but said the school could improve further.
Head teacher Darren Vallier who joined the school officially in January said: “We are thrilled that the report recognises how incredibly hard we have worked, and I hope that every member of staff, every pupil and every parent feels proud of their achievement. This is great for the school and for the Telscombe Cliffs community.”
