Lewes Football Club is adding a further dimension to its multi-sports strategy in The Rook Inn today (Friday).
First there was table fotball … then there was darts …and now the club is proud to announce the addition of that most sacred of Sussex sports … Toad In The Hole.
Thanks to public subscription, the Rooks have had a table specially made by local crafts/toadsman Simon Goodman. The official launch takes at The Dripping Pan’s hostelry today. Doors open at 7pm and an Open Tournament starts at 7.30pm – pros or beginners, all are welcome.
The club is particularly pleased to announce that current Toads World Champion (and Founder Director of Lewes Community Football Club) Ben Ward will be in attendance to offer tips and advice.
Ben said: “The National Sport of Lewes finally comes to The Dripping Pan. It’s the simplest game to learn and it doesn’t take long to reach a decent standard – some people seem to be naturally good at it.”
