More than 2,000 competitors and spectators went along to Seaford at the weekend for the 10th South Coast Triathlon and South Coast Run.

Organised by UK Triathlon Events, the triathlon on Saturday was followed by the South Coast Run on Sunday, which was made up of a half marathon, 10k and 5k, with beautiful land and sea conditions.

Top honours of the day in the triathlon went to Graeme Jeffery in the Olympic Male with a first place time of 02:14:33.

He had the fastest bike time on the course achieving a fantastic 01:03:26, challenged by Michael Onions, who was hot on his heels with a time of 01:04:06.

He ran a strong fastest time run of 00:40:49, crossing the line to take victory over Marcus Tarrant, who achieved a run time of 00:41:03.

Swimming honours went to Paul Brockway with an incredible time of 00:24:38, helping put him in sixth place overall.

The Olympic Female was Deborah Munton, with the fastest swim in 00:29:45 and a total winning time of 02:43:43.

Perrine Hue came in second with the fastest bike time of 01:18:36 and a total time of 02:45:48, closely followed by third place Sally Dussek with the fastest run in 00:48:05 and a total of 02:46:19.

Sprint Male winner was Wes Mechen in 01:09:21 and Sprint Female winner Lorna White in 01:15:00.

The Relay was won by RG Active Team 2 in 02:23:21.

This year saw a change to the swim course and coupled with great sea conditions, the Triathlon’s Race Director said: “The event was a huge success as always and in the ten years we have been organising this event it has to be the best swim course to date, along with our best ever South Coast Triathlon.

“We love this event for its location, swim, bike and run course, spectator friendliness and of course all competitors along with thie supporters.

“It’s great to hear such fantastic feedback at the weekend and via Facebook.”
