TIDEWAY School in Newhaven has reported a ten per cent improvement in its GCSE results.
Students have put in record breaking academic performances too.
In total 54 per cent of pupils attained 5A*-C including English and Maths, 63 per cent achieved 5A*-C, 98 per cent scored 5A*-G and 100 per cent of students got one 1A*- G.
Head teacher Rob Corbett said: “We are delighted to announce a ten per cent increase in the number of students attaining five or more good grades including English and Maths to 54 per cent.
“This is the second year that the school has had an increase of this size and reflects the hard work of staff and students and the positive ethos that now exists in the school.
“Our outcomes at every measure are school record highs.
“This is a clear demonstration of the rapid improvements the school has made in the last two years and shows how effective the work of the school is.
“I would like to congratulate our pupils for the excellent progress they have made as a result of their close and productive work with the staff here at Tideway.”
