An Eastbourne youngster and his sister will be enjoying hospitality at the AEGON International Tennis Tournament next week after winning an Arndale Centre competition.

Christian Fernandes-Cox picked out the top prize of two quarter final hospitality tickets to the AEGON tennis tournament when he took part in the Arndale Centre’s Game, Set and March event last weekend.

Christian and his sister Emilia (pictured) were among nearly 400 people who took part in the event that featured a large Centre Court themed ball pit containing 1,440 balls and more than 900 prizes and discounts from shops in the Arndale Centre.

There were also free workshops for youngsters throughout the weekend. On Saturday, 180 children made sun visors in preparation for watching tennis and the following day, more than 160 made their own mini Eton Mess pudding.

Arndale Centre manager Bill Plumridge said, “Tennis week in Eastbourne is such a great occasion that we wanted to do something in advance to get everyone ready for the event. We were delighted that our tenants gave so many fantastic prizes and that so many people came along and took part.”
