Pedestrian died in Crowborough collision

A 75-year-old local woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a road traffic collision yesterday (Monday November 12) evening on the A26, Eridge Road, Crowborough.

Emergency services were called to the scene north of the Boars Head Inn at around 5.50pm following reports that a grey Mercedes car travelling north was in collision with a pedestrian.

PC Matthew Harman from East Sussex Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet come forward to please do so.

“We would also like to hear from you if you saw the Mercedes prior to the collision. Please dial 101 quoting Op Edgeley if you can assist with our enquiries.”

The Mercedes driver, a 72-year-old man from Wadhurst, was uninjured.
