Police investigating the death of an Uckfield woman in Maresfield on Friday last week (October 25) have been stopping vehicles at the scene of her death in a bid to find witnesses to what happened.

Kerry-Ann Theron, 30, of Manor End, Uckfield, sadly died in Southampton General Hospital later that day after falling from her Yamaha motorcycle whilst riding north along The Straight Half Mile at Maresfield, at around 7.15am.

Inspector Steve Grace, from Sussex Police’s Road Policing Unit at Polegate, said: “The circumstances of Kerry-Ann’s tragic death have still not been fully established, but we now believe she was hit by a car after falling off and we want to find the driver of that vehicle.

“A man who was changing the wheel on a car near the scene in The Straight Half Mile around the time of the incident last Friday has now been traced and we have spoken to him.

“This morning, one week later, we have been asking drivers along that stretch of road if they were around at that time and if they saw anything that might help us. We would still like to hear from anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us.

“Call us on 101 or e-mail collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Westwood.”
