UPDATE: Police name cyclist who died after Nutley collision

The 79-year old cyclist who died when he was in collision with a car on the A22 at Nutley yesterday (Sunday December 28) has been named as Michael Long, of Hop Gardens, Fairwarp.

Police are appealing for witnesses after Mr Long, who was cycling north, sadly died at the scene after he collided with a southbound Renault Megane on the A22 at High Street, Nutley, shortly before 10am yesterday outside Nutley Service Station.

The car driver, a 32-year-old man from East Grinstead, was unhurt.

The A22 at Nutley was closed for six hours while the incident was dealt with.

Police wish to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.
