Emergency services are at the scene of a three-vehicle crash in Lewes.

The A26 is closed in both directions between the Beddingham Roundabout and the A259 The Drove junction in South Heighton.

Firefighters were called to the scene at around 11.15am this morning (Wednesday, November 25) to reports of a person trapped.

Sussex Police confirmed one person has been taken to hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The incident is still ongoing and motorists are being asked to avoid the area while investigations continue.
