Two ‘burglars’ grab money from Hailsham building merchant

POLICE are looking for two suspected burglars broke into a building merchants store in Hailsham and stole money.

The two men burgled the Parkers Building Merchants, The Diplocks, at around 10.25pm on Monday, April 4. They broke into the premises and were seen to steal cash from petty cash tins, police said.

One of the men was also seen to enter the store earlier the same day at around 2.55pm and spoke briefly with staff. This man is described as white, slim to medium build, aged 25 to 30, 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall with short black hair. He also had a prominent scar from behind his right ear to the the top of his head. The suspect also had discoloured ‘bad teeth’ which were not straight – and he spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a black Berghaus fleece,black jeans and black boots.

Anyone who was in the area on Monday evening (4 April) and saw two men in dark clothing, or the man described, is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 0226 of April 4.
