Uckfield student rushed to hospital ‘in serious condition’

A student at Uckfield Community College was rushed to hospital ‘in a serious condition’ this morning (Wednesday, June 3).

Police and paramedics were called to the technology college at around 10.55am to reports of a teenager having breathing difficulties.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “An ambulance was called after a 16-year-old boy suffered breathing difficulties at Uckfield Community Technology College, at 10.55am.

“The air ambulance landed but the boy was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, by road in a serious condition.”

The college also released a statement later in the day. It read: “A student at Uckfield Community College was taken seriously ill today.

“Paramedics attended to him and took him to hospital by ambulance. He is stable.

“An air ambulance came to the site but was not used. Students and staff wish him a speedy recovery.”
