Part of the A27 remains closed this afternoon (Saturday, April 23) after a car ‘lost control and hit a lamppost’.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on the A27 eastbound between the Ashcombe Roundabout and the Southerham Roundabout, shortly after 7am to reports of a collision.
A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed the incident involved one vehicle that lost control, veering off the road and hitting a nearby lamppost.
It is not yet known if any persons inside the vehicle suffered any injuries.
The road is closed in the eastbound direction, causing major delays in the area.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
