Update: Road re-opened after digger overturns in Buxted

Motorists were warned of delays after a digger overturned near Buxted station this morning (Monday).

Buxted High Street was partially blocked at the Gordon Road junction as a result of the incident.

A police spokesman said: "A low loader carrying a digger hit the railway bridge in Buxted High Street on Monday (August 22) at 8.53am.

"The digger was blocking the road. There are no injuries. Network rail have been dealing with the incident."

The road has now re-opened.
