Fire fighters have freed a man who suffered minor injuries and was trapped in his car following a collision on the A26 this morning near Beddingham.

Sussex Police said the A26 was closed to release the man but was reopened at 9.55am.

The collision involved two cars and took place around 9am about 500 yards south of the Beddingham roundabout.

Police and South East Coast Ambulance were called to the scene.

The man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
