Bede’s School, Deputy Director of Music, Robert Scamardella has become a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM) in organ performance. The FRSM is the highest form of performing diploma and indicates a level of professional expertise and rigorous standards.

The FRSM also indicates a level of authoritative, and persuasively communicated, performance ability in addition to artistic integrity and technical command. Robert performed a technically demanding programme consisting of Bach’stowering Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, Kenneth Leighton’s Et Resurrexit (Theme, Fantasy and Fugue) and Duruflé’s Prélude et Fugue sur Le nom d’Alain.

Robert impressed the examining panel with his technical command and impressive communication skills as well as the ability to discuss complex musical issues with confidence.
