A free gardening and healthy lunch course is teaching parents and children some useful skills in Newhaven.
They have been learning about potting, planting seeds and weeding during the course, which is being run by Newhaven Community Development Association (NCDA).
Amongst the other activities are creating herb and sensory gardens and making feeders for wild birds.
The seven week course, called from Seed to Table, is underway at Denton Island Community Centre.
It is being funded by East Sussex County Council.
NCDA education and well-being activities development worker Ronnie Fuller said: “The course aims to get parents and their children aged five years and under taking part in fun and informal gardening activities in the lovely nursery garden.
“The sessions also include a healthy lunch, which is prepared by NCDA staff and the parents.”
The sessions take place on a Thursday and will run until mid July.
The course is part of the NCDA Family Learning project and many other course and activities for families are available in the local area.
