With around two months of his space mission to go, Sussex astronaut Tim Peake has been looking back at his work on board the International Space Station (ISS) and talking about the highlights so far.

Major Peake was launched to the ISS, on December 15 last year and has now been in space for 119 days.

He has been working on dozens of experiments for researchers on Earth as he orbits the planet at 28,800 km/h.

Highlights of his scientific roster include growing crystals and blood vessels in space, simulating atomic structures and charting areas in the brain as they adapt to stressful situations.

He has also been in constant contact via social media, revealing his music playlists and answering the many questions posed by his followers.

He is also in training for the London Marathon - he will be using the treadmill in the ISS to take part.

In a five-minute video from the ISS Major Peake says: “I just wish that I could bring everyone up on board here to look at planet Earth to see it through our eyes.”

He adds: “It really brings it home how we need to look after each other and how we need to look after our planet.”
