More than 1,000 Sussex Downs College were celebrating after receiving their A level and BTEC results across a vast range of subjects.

Sussex Downs Lewes College achieved an A*-E overall pass rate of more than 98.4 per cent with 73 per cent achieving the high grades of A*-C.

Sherry Russell, Head of Sussex Downs Lewes College, said: “Lewes students have yet again achieved excellent individual and collective success.

“Thirty-five A level subjects had 100 per cent pass rates and 31 students achieved straight A* and A grades in three or more of their A levels and deserve particular congratulation.

“Vocational students studying for Advanced BTEC qualifications have also excelled, with a pass rate of more than 97 per cent, including more than 62 per cent of these achieving the highest standard of Distinction* and Distinction.

“We have more than 500 students from Sussex Downs Lewes College progressing from BTEC and A levels to study degree courses across the country.

Sherry concluded: “Sussex Downs College students enjoy their studies and are enriched by learning in a supportive sixth form environment with a friendly, purposeful working atmosphere.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our students celebrating success in a range of qualifications this summer and wish them well in their chosen progression pathways.”
