UPDATED Video: bus collision near Lewes prison
Sussex Police said one person was taken to hospital by ambulance following a collison involving a bus and two cars in Lewes today (Friday March 1).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service had to free a person who had become trapped in a car at the scene near the Prison crossroads.
Fire fighters were called to the scene in Nevill Road at around 10.04am.
Bus operator Compass Travel said as a result service 166 was not running, adding that the A277 was closed both ways, but has since reopened.
There are still reports of queueing traffic due to the accident.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has now left, but East Sussex Highways is clearing up debris from the collision.
