A display of clinical finishing from a full-strength Brighton & Hove Albion side saw Lewes suffer defeat in their first friendly of pre-season in front of a sell-out crowd at the Pan reports Tom Harper.
With manager Garry Wilson on holiday, assistant Danny Bloor took charge and was able to call upon six of the eight new signings that have arrived at the club this summer and four trialists, as well as the members of last season’s squad who had committed themselves to the club for the forthcoming campaign.
The game started slowly, with Brighton, who have reached the Championship play-offs in each of the last two seasons, enjoying the majority of possession but unable to break down a well-organised Lewes side well marshalled by new signings Ollie Rowe and captain Gary Elphick.
