BOWLING CLUB: The first game of the outdoor season was played against the Isle of Thorns (Chelwood Gate) in a mixture of sunshine, rain and snow and, to add to their misery, Barcombe lost by 30 shots to 72. The return match was played three days later at Barcombe. This time the weather was better, but Barcombe still lost 49 shots to 73. However, the home game against Lewes on Wednesday, May 4, saw a change in fortune as Barcombe won 79 shots to 61. The club will welcome any new members. If you are interested come along any Monday evening from 6 pm onwards and try your hand. We meet at the Pavilion on the recreation ground, and can supply all the equipment you need for a trial and an enjoyable game in the sunshine. Contact Steve Brown on 01273 401643
