VILLLAGE OF SANCTUARY: Many thanks to all those that attended and contributed to the Travelling to sanctuary event held last Saturday afternoon. There was full house, enjoying a wonderful afternoon tea provided by our team, and we heard Andy Barnes talk about how valuable it can be to find ways to hear the stories first hand of refugees and asylum seekers. As well as the tea and the talk, once again the whole event showed how kind our community can be if given the chance. I add my thanks to all who came and all who contributed in whatever way. Watch this space for future activities and ways of supporting the desperate, including our chosen ongoing relationship with SOS Children’s Village Qodsaya in war-torn Syria. There are now over 250 orphaned but protected children there, to whom we are sending money monthly. Please contact [email protected] if you would like more information or to be involved. Watch this space for further events and activities.
