SUMMER FAYRE: The Tudor Summer Fayre, recently held at St Mary’s Church was a great success and the Tudor outfits worn for the occasion by many of the parishioners looked amazing, especially those worn by Mike Barber as Henry VIII. Mike is also blessed with a terrific singing voice so was able to entertain the crowds accompanied by his lutenists. The weather certainly helped as it was a lovely sunny day. Proceeds from the day were approximately £5,300 with a further £1,180 to be added from the Auction of Promises held at the Wheatsheaf on June 25 - and there might be a little more to come. It will all help in maintaining this lovely old church.
