ST MARY'S: The youth group meets at 6.30pm tonight (Friday) in the church room for an informal gathering and supper (jacket potatoes). There will be games, discussions and the opportunity to consider plans for the coming months. On Sunday we continue to celebrate Easter with Holy Communion at 8am, a Eucharist with the baptism of Regan at 10am and Evensong at 6.30pm. On Tuesday, the Mother's Union meets at 7.30pm to learn and sample ethnic clothing. Members and visitors very welcome.

RAMBLERS: The Ramblers enjoyed a pleasant 4.5 miles walk in fine spring weather last Sunday, April 3. Starting at Firle village car park we headed east past Charleston before finally circling back to Firle. The walk on Sunday, will be around Plumpton, approximately 5 miles, leaving Ringmer village car park at 10am. For more details please contact 01273 812456. BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday March 6, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Barrie Smith and Alan Grindley; 3, Alan Disney and Roy Skan. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Please note that, due to building works in the main entrance, we play next week in the small hall. SPRING FAIR: Saturday April 23 in Ringmer Village Hall from 10am to 12.30pm. Ringmer WI members have been busy making, baking and collecting for a great range of stalls: cakes, art and craft, plants books, bric-a-brac, raffle, tombola and good as new. Come for a cup of coffee and a bargain.

HOSPICE BOOK SALE: Many thanks to all those who helped raise £354 at the recent book sale and especially to Lew Howard, the Pet Store, Studio 76, Ganges and Fabulous Nails and Lashes who kindly gave raffle prizes. Please note that the next sale scheduled for April 23 has been postponed until later in the year.

VILLAGE HALL CELEBRATION: As part of the evening’s programme to celebrate the opening of the new library at the Village Hall on Sat. 30th April, there will be an auction of some 40 lots of Promises and Items of Interest. Items include a round of golf for two at Piltdown Golf Course, an offer to do two hours’ ironing, two tickets for Glyndebourne, a large collection of postage stamps, a 19th century tea caddy, and a Royal Copenhagen vase. Viewing will be immediately prior to the sale and all proceeds will go to the Village Hall Building Appeal.

CHILDRENS NEARLY NEW SALE: We are organising a Children’s Nearly New sale at Ringmer Primary School for anything to do with children age 4 years plus. Items we hope to be selling include clothes, toys, books, bikes, scooters etc. It is on May 7, 10.30am until noon. If anyone wishes to sell then they should register in advance please at [email protected]. There will be tea and cakes too. If anyone has anything they could please donate for school funds then please e-mail the same address and we would be very pleased to collect.
