THE SEAFORD CHORAL SOCIETY: Will be singing works by Monteverdi, Gershwin and Elgar at St. Andrew’s Church tomorrow, Saturday July 11, at 7 pm.
Tickets adults £10, £5 for children 16 and under from Steamer Trading in the High Street or on the door.
THE 300 CLUB: Met last month at Deans Place where a cheque for £550 was handed to Chris Morley representing the War Memorial Hall Committee.
This money will go towards the refurbishment of the WMH toilets which will start as soon as enough funds have been collected. This month’s meeting will be on July 14 at 8pm in the Star Inn.
A TEDDY BEARS’ SERVICE: Will be held at 11am at St Andrew’s Church on July 19 followed by the Teddy Bears’ Picnic at 12.30pm on The Tye.
The service and picnic are in aid of the Children’s Charity of Sussex Family Support Work, a charity with the emphasis on children and the goal is to help families build the foundations for a strong family structure.
MUSIC FESTIVAL: The Alfriston Summer Music Festival makes its welcome annual return on July 21 till 26.
The first evening concert Artistic Director, Jeremy Young, will be joined by artists from the past and present for a varied programme to celebrate the festival’s 10th birthday. Other concerts include music by Debussy, Mozart, Bach, Elgar and more.
There is also a night of folk music with Tom Hickox and Live Junction and on Friday a programme entitled In the Deep Blue Sea, with actor Michael Pennington performing locally inspired poetry with music to include Elgar’s Piano quintet. Regular visitors to the Alfriston Music Festival will be familiar with the high quality of the performers.

THE RUDE MECHANICALS: Return to Alfriston on August 5 with their production of the Comedy of Babi Babette.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK: The fund-raising activities on behalf of Christian Aid this year raised over £2,960 excluding gift aid, which when added should bring the total to over £3,400.
