PARISH COUNCIL: On Thursday at 7.30pm, there will be a Berwick Parish Council meeting in Berwick Village Hall. Details of the agenda will be on the parish website (http://berwickparishcouncil.org/) and on the parish council noticeboards. Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend all parish council meetings.

CROQUET: Tomorrow, Saturday, in Alciston Village in the afternoon, the Inter-Village Croquet Competition will be held. Teams will assemble at 2.30pm with play commencing at 2.45pm. There will be drinks and light refreshments from 6pm. The event is being held in aid of all the churches in the Benefice.

CONCERT: On Sunday, at 6pm to 7.30pm, in Berwick Church, there will be a Songs for a Summer Evening concert by the Renaissance Singers. The programme of delightful songs will be led by Shirley Burrell and is the fifth visit by this talented group. Entry is free with light refreshments and payment will be by donation after the concert.

SUMMER CELEBRATION: On Sunday, July 26, from 11am, there will be a special united event at Arlington to which people who are not church members are also warmly invited. A traditional marquee will be erected in the field next to Arlington Village Hall and people from across the five villages (Arlington, Berwick, Selmeston-cum-Alciston and Wilmington) are invited to come and picnic in the field. There will be a Songs of Praise service at 11am followed by refreshments. The afternoon will have numerous activities including competitions and team events, tractor/wagon rides, crafts, storytelling and a homemade agility course for dogs to have a go.

OPEN EXHIBITION: On August 1 and 2, from noon to 10.30pm on the Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on the Sunday, Arlington Arts Group is hosting an Open Exhibition: Arlington Art and Craft show, at Arlington Village hall.

ARLINGTON DAY: On August 1 from noon at Arlington Village Hall and Field, Arlington Day will consist of a village picnic, live music and an art show. Further details are to be found at www.arlingtonday.co.uk

ANNUAL SHOW: On Saturday, August 29, at 2pm on the Berwick Playing Field, the Berwick Produce Association will be holding its 60th annual show.

FLOWER SHOW: On Saturday, September 5, in Arlington Village Hall, the Arlington and Upper Dicker Produce and Flower Show will be held.
