BERWICK PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting of Berwick Parish Council will be held on Thursday at 7.30pm in Berwick Village Hall. Berwick Parish Council will be commenting on application WD2015/1657F for 7 Downsway, Station Road at its September Meeting. The application is for a proposed garden studio. Full details of this application can be found on www.wealden.gov.uk Members of the public are welcome to attend and to comment on any applications being considered. As time is often limited at the meetings, the parish council also welcomes comments via e-mail (email@example.com). Comments should be sent no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting in order to be considered by the parish council.
RENOVATIONS: Renovation works were considered last night by Arlington Parish Council to the two finger posts located in the centre of Arlington Village and at Bayleys Lane. The state of the various Noticeboards and the Arlington Village Telephone Box were also discussed. The extent of any renovations will be announced in next week’s column.
ART EXHIBITION: Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10.30am to 4.30pm, there will be an Art Exhibition at the Bluebell Barn in Bates Green Farm, Arlington.
MOBILE LIBRARY: On Friday, September 25, the Mobile Library will call at Arlington Village Hall between 2.20pm and 2.45pm and Berwick Village Hall between 2.55pm and 3.10pm.
QUIZ NIGHT: On Saturday, September 26, there will be a Quiz Night at Upper Dicker Village Hall starting at 7pm for 7.30pm, including supper and tea or coffee, bring your own drinks. Adults £7 and under-12s £3.50. The evening is in aid of raising funds for the village hall.
LADIES BREAKFAST: On Saturday, October 3, from 8.30am to 10am in Arlington Village Hall there will be a Deanery Ladies Breakfast. There is an entrance fee of £4 payable at the door, to book please ring 01323 870075. The Bishop of Lewes, the Rt Rev’d Richard Jackson will be speaking.
HARVEST SUPPER AND GAMES: On Saturday, October 3, in Upper Dicker Village Hall, there will be a Harvest Supper and Games Evening. For further details please ring 01323 844522 or 841541.
ARLINGTON VILLAGE MARKET: On Tuesday, October 6 between 10am and 11.30am in Arlington Village Hall, there will be a Village Market. A variety of stalls including home baking, traditional bread, fresh vegetables and refreshments will be available.
