HOUSING DEVELOPMENT: Proposed housing development in Camberlot Road. Today, Friday, between 3pm and 8pm in Upper Dicker Village Hall there will be a public consultation by the developer on plans for a group of houses on land at Camberlot Road. Parishioners are invited to take this opportunity to express their views at this early stage in the development.

1950’S PARTY: Arlington’s 50’s Themed Party and Queen’s Official 90th Birthday. Tomorrow, Saturday, in Arlington Village Hall starting at 7pm there will be a 50’s themed party. This is a joint Upper Dicker and Arlington event. Ticket price to cover overall expenses only. 50’s dress with prizes. PARISH COUNCIL: Starting at 7pm, on June 16 in Upper Dicker Village Hall, Arlington Parish Council meeting will receive a presentation by Cllr Anne Newton and a colleague on the latest position of the Local Plan, Options and Issues. This will be followed by a session for parishioners to ask questions on updates to Wealden District Council’s preferred option to build 9,000 houses in the parish, a new proposal to build a retail/commercial development ‘somewhere’ in the Cuckmere Valley, and the building of a new road through the parish as a replacement to the existing A22 Hailsham bypass. The council meeting will also include a short public session for parishioners to make comment on other matters on the Agenda.

ARLINGTON ARTS GROUP: On June 16, which is the third Thursday of the month, the Arts Group will not be held at the village hall but instead will be an outdoor painting session at Pickhams, Wilmington.
