Defibrillators in Arlington Parish: Arlington Parish has two defibrillators installed as part of the support from the emergency services, and other organisations, to this community. The defibrillators are located in the Arlington Village Phone Box, outside the Yew Tree Inn and the Bede’s Porter’s Lodge in the main cark park entrance, Michelham Priory Road.

Anyone is allowed to use this equipment in an attempt to resuscitate a person whose heart has apparently stopped beating. You will not harm the victim as the machine will tell you what to do and the equipment will prevent it being used on a person whose heart is still beating. There are no key or access codes required as the priority is that the equipment reaches the victim as quickly as possible given the rural context. However(!) It is important that someone has phoned 999 before, or during, its use. Non-emergency issues with the equipment should be reported to Ray Collins on 07860 783984.

Emergency information:

The Arlington Parish Council website has on-line links to emergency information from the Met Office, Cold and Air Quality Alerts in Sussex, Power Networks, and flood warnings. Although the website does not issue warnings, parishioners should be able to reach the right agency by clicking on these links.
