STOOLBALL: On Sunday the Mid Division Junior team played in the Matterface at Clymping and Alicia Colbourne (aged 10) from Barcombe was asked to play. She made her debut in two matches and the team were runners-up. Well done Alicia. We were away to Isfield on Tuesday and had a close game. Isfield 103 for 9 and Barcombe 106 for 9 after 12 overs. Angharad 5 for 64. Chloe Allsobrook has joined our team this season and she held two vital catches which made all the difference.

BOWLS: The results for the games played so far this month are as follows: away to Crowbrough Wolfe 76 Barcombe 51. Home game against Ringmer 64-74 Barcombe. Away game to Haywards Heath 75 Barcombe 59. On July 4 the Barcombe outdoor Bowling Club competed against the Barcombe Indoor Short Mat Bowls Club for the Porter Cup, which is in memory of Bill Porter who had been a member of both clubs. Each club put forward three teams of triples. The game was played over 18 ends with the final result a draw 52-52. It was therefore decided that the cup should be retained by the short mat bowls club for another year.

OUTDOOR THEATRE: The Rudes are visiting us again this Thursday bringing their 17th summer of outdoor theatre, comedy, mayhem and live music to Barcombe. The Comedy of Babi Babbett is set in Islington in 1793 and is an out and out face in the classic commedia dell’arte style and is probably the funniest of all their plays. So do come along, tickets available at Barcombe Stores or on the door, or online at: www.therudemechanicaltheatre.co.uk. Open for picnics from 6pm. We hope to see you there.
