BOWLS: Last week the team had a league game away to their nearest rivals in the league table, Horam Cannons who currently lie one point below Burwash in second place. The matches were hard fought with the triples Joan Howard, Mary Taylor and Alan Green just holding to win by two shots. Keith and Angela Marden and Gavin Wood lost by one shot. After tea break pairs Keith Wood and Julie Hawkins won by eight shots and Cherry Taylor and Alec Martin lost by one. This gave both team’s four league points and keeps Burwash just on top. Burwash will next play at home to the Cannons on Monday and away to Hailsham Martlets on Tuesday.
