CHRISTMAS MARKET: Is at St Peter’s Church tomorrow, Saturday, from 10am to 3pm, at St Peter’s Church. There will be Christmas produce, gifts and cards, handmade jewellery, sweets, paintings from local artists, children’s toys, Deerview fine Sussex Foods, pottery and other stalls and a raffle. Plus Father Christmas will be there greeting the children. Entry costs £2 to include seasonal refreshments (Gluwein, tea, coffee, mince pies and sausage rolls).

CAN YOU SPARE JUST AN HOUR?: Tesco Superstore in Burgess Hill has given Chailey Heritage Foundation the opportunity to do a bucket collection at their store on Wednesday December 23. Monies raised will help raise funds for specialist equipment that can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex disabilities and help them to reach their potential. CHRISTMAS: Tea Party and Carols are at the Free Church on Friday December 18 at 4pm (instead of the usual morning Coffee Stop) and everyone is welcome.
CHRISTMAS AT ST PETER’S: Services on Sunday December 20 are the usual Holy Communion at 8am and Parish Communion at 10am services. In addition there will be a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 6pm. On Christmas Eve there will be a Children’s Crib Service at 3.30pm followed by Midnight Communion at 11.30pm. Christmas Day services are Holy Communion at.8am and a Christmas Family Service at 10am.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT: Are at the Free Church on Sunday December 20 at 4pm. Do go along and sing much loved carols and enjoy a light tea afterwards. On Christmas Day at 10.30am there will be a short family service. Please take one of your presents to show and there will be tea, coffee and biscuits after the service.
NEW YEAR’S DAY: Holly Hike at Sheffield Park, on Friday January 1, starts at 11am and lasts 3 hours. Join the Park’s longest serving team member to see the lesser-known parts of the estate. The cost for adults is £6; for more details and to book call 01825790231.

A SUSSEX WHODUNNIT: Is the subject of the next Women’s Institute meeting, on Tuesday January 5, and the speaker will be John Davey.
